Competencies/ Education Requirements/Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Software Engineering / Computer Engineering
  • Preferred: degree specialization in embedded systems / computer vision / voice interfaces / machine learning
  • 10-15 years total software delivery experience
  • 2-5 years software delivery experience in computer vision / voice interfaces / machine learning / deep learning
  • Experience with RTOS systems
  • Good knowledge of C language
  • Strong verification, testing, and debugging ability
  • Hands-on experience with development and debugging tools
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Excellent ability to develop technical talent
  • Good problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Preferred: product development experience
  • Preferred: technology development and deployment experience
  • Preferred: software quality assurance experience
  • Preferred: lean PD, Agile, OPEX, Design for Safety/Reliability Constraints/Challenges
  • Working as part of a globally dispersed team to achieve results

Key Activities and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate available technologies and tools, and recommend choices for productization
  • Develop knowledge and expertise in Machine Learning and Deep Learning for computer vision and voice interfaces
  • Work with software leaders to define and implement product features using these new technologies
  • Provide technical leadership and support team towards project delivery - scoping, planning, guidance on resource allocation.
  • Ensure full Team accountability to deliver commitments.
  • Own work product releases at a through reviews and ensure 100 % compliance towards process.
  • Apply technical knowledge across product categories.
  • Define, develop and capture knowledge required to deliver sub system level excellence.
  • Build strategic capabilities that make a difference to the business.
  • Drive continual improvements within the team through trainings.
  • Engage self and right talent within the team at the appropriate phase of project initiation and ensures that the resources are effectively utilized to deliver the projects.
  • Guide the creation of reusable modules, libraries, design guidelines, DVP & FMEA (5 WHY Analysis) to document and reuse knowledge.
  • Drive capability-building activities such as training sessions, presentations, and prototype development.
  • Maintain metrics to measure the performance. Weekly analysis of work in terms of defined metrics.
  • Engage with Global counterpart (System Integrator & Project Manager) and stakeholders to review scoping and to decide on assignment of the projects to Engineers.
  • Provide regular feedback to team members and contribute to performance appraisals for the team members.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives such as process improvements, idea generation, and innovation.
